[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Motor's labor union, facing difficulties in wage negotiations, has announced a full strike schedule, marking the first strike in six years. The union stated on the 4th that they will conduct partial strikes on the 10th and 11th.
On the 10th, Shift 1 will halt production lines from 10:50 AM to 3:30 PM, and Shift 2 will do so from 7:30 PM to 12:10 AM. Starting from the 6th, overtime and extra work will also be suspended.
During the 11th negotiation, the company proposed a basic wage increase of 106,000 won, a performance bonus of 350% + 15 million won, a 100% quality improvement incentive, and the issuance of 25 shares of stock. However, the union rejected this offer.
In this year's wage negotiations, the union demands include a basic wage increase of 159,000 won (excluding seniority increments), a performance bonus equivalent to 30% of the previous year's net profit, a 900% increase in bonuses, the introduction of a 4-hour workday on Fridays, and an extension of retirement age linked to the age at which national pension benefits are received.
