[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] On the 29th, Hyundai Rotem announced through a public disclosure that it has signed supply and maintenance contracts worth a total of 538.2 billion KRW with Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
Hyundai Rotem has signed a contract with Korail worth 389.7 billion KRW to supply KTX-Eum (EMU-260) trains. According to the contract, Hyundai Rotem will supply vehicles to be deployed on the Chuncheon-Sokcho East-West High-Speed Railway and the Gangneung-Jejin Donghae Northern Line by October 25, 2028.
Additionally, Hyundai Rotem has signed a contract with DAPA worth 148.5 billion KRW for the outsourcing maintenance of K1A2 tanks. The contract period extends until December 3, 2027.
