[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Some users of Korea Investment & Securities’ mobile trading system (MTS) experienced trading and balance display errors in their retirement pension accounts on March 5, causing inconvenience for investors during a highly volatile market session.

According to a ChosunBiz report, certain retirement pension accounts on the MTS encountered issues after the market opened, including inability to execute trades and discrepancies in displayed share balances and returns.

The issue occurred as the KOSPI index swung sharply, plunging 18% over two days before rebounding on March 5.

One user told ChosunBiz, “The number of shares shown in my account is displayed excessively, and I’m unable to sell them. I tried to sell some holdings when the market was strong in the morning, but I keep missing the timing because the system won’t process the order.”

The errors reportedly prevented some investors from managing their holdings at key moments during the market rebound.
