The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has launched a fact-finding investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and assault by a high-ranking official of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, an affiliated organization. After receiving a tip that something unpleasant had happened at the year-end dinner, the company launched the necessary investigation before taking disciplinary action at the Korea Technology Finance Corporation.
On December 13 last year, Director A of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation kissed B, a female executive working for the same company, on the back of her hand after a dinner. When C, a male employee who witnessed this, stopped him, A hit him in the back. In the process, C called the police, and C, who was angry, hit the wall with his own hand, leading to hospitalization. There was no additional sexual harassment or assault, but the drunk director A did not apologize to B and C on the day of the incident.
The next day, there were signs that sexual harassment and assault problems would arise inside the Korea Technology Finance Corporation. Director A apologized to the victims one after another. Director A delivered his intention to C, saying, "If necessary, I will resign." However, C, who suffered from the assault, did not accept Director A's apology.
Inside and outside the company, there are doubts that a disciplinary committee has not been convened against director A for more than a month after the incident.
