According to the industry on February 17, EU antitrust regulators decided whether to approve the merger of the two companies on February 17.
There are four countries left to review the business combination between Korean Air and Asiana Airlines: the U.S., the EU (European Union), the U.K. and Japan.
The United States announced its position of further review in November last year. In principle, the U.K. accepted the correction proposal submitted for the merger and decided to finalize it by Jan. 26 this year or no later than March 23. The EU and Japan are known to be in the final stages of screening. The merger will be canceled unless either the required reporting country or the voluntary reporting country approves it.
