[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] For the overall development of the Korean industry, KT will join hands with the Mongolian government to supply Mongolian mineral resources, including rare earths, to Korea. In addition, KT CEO Koo Hyun-mo was appointed as the "Mongolia Chief Technology Officer (CTO)," and KT Group plans to establish a cooperative system with the Mongolian government in various fields such as financial, medical, digital and media and support the acceleration of digital policies in Mongolia.
KT announced on the 26th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to supply Mongolian mineral resources such as rare earth elements to Korea at the KT- Mongolia strategic cooperation event for 'realization of digital Mongolia' held in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The signing ceremony was attended by Representative Koo Hyun-mo and Mongolian Prime Minister Eoyong Erden Robsannamsria.
Based on the MOU, KT will lay the foundation for preferentially supplying various mineral resources such as rare earth elements produced in Mongolia to other domestic industries and come up with detailed supply measures after discussions with the government and domestic industries in the future.
