[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The number of victims is increasing as fraudulent organizations that approach Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong's name and photos by stealing so-called "Lee Jae-yong coins" expand their activities. They were found to have used bold techniques such as drawing the Samsung logo on their business cards and introducing themselves as Samsung Group officials.
According to the industry on the 26th, videos containing false facts such as "Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong's Coin" are spreading through advertisements on YouTube and other sites. They are posting false advertisements guaranteeing "1,000%" returns, saying they are linked to businesses invested by celebrities such as the chairman of Samsung and Hyundai Group and Saudi Crown Prince bin Salman. Some videos had more than 600,000 views as they were exposed to a large number of people through YouTube advertisements.
The video encouraged coin investment by referring to articles unrelated to specific coins, such as Samsung Electronics' 3-nano semiconductor technology or in-house venture C-Lab investment history. If you leave a text message with the marked phone number, you will also be informed of the coin information created by Samsung Electronics.
The investor who left the contact reassured the victim by showing a fake business card with the Samsung logo on it through text messages. He leaked fake information, saying it was a coin scheduled to be linked to Samsung Pay. It also created and distributed fake articles with the coin name they recommended in the actual media articles that were sent.
