[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Household & Health Care, whose operating profit has fallen below 1 trillion won for the first time in five years, has notified its employees of 100% performance-based bonuses.
LG Household & Health Care held a performance-based performance presentation on the 1st and notified 100% payment. The basic salary, which is the basis for performance-based bonuses, is known to be one-twentieth of the contract annual salary.
LG Household & Health Care's annual operating profit fell 44.9% year-on-year to KRW 711.1 billion last year and sales fell 11.2% to KRW 7.1858 trillion. It is the first time since 2017 that annual operating profit has been below KRW 1 trillion.
However, 400% of bonuses were paid in early 2017 for 2016 (operating profit of 880.9 billion won), which was similar to the absolute profit, which is believed to have angered employees. LG Household & Health Care later paid 300% performance-based bonuses in early 2018 and 500% performance-based bonuses for three years from 2019 to early 2021 due to rapid performance growth. I paid 460% at the beginning of 2022
LG Household & Health Care's performance-based bonuses are small even within LG Group. According to the industry, LG U+ is 200-250% and LG CNS is 300-430%.
