[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Doosan Infracore, an affiliate of HD Hyundai's construction machinery division, has won a large-scale order from Turkey for its own tank engine.
On the 2nd, Hyundai Doosan Infracore announced that it has signed a contract with Turkish defense company BMC to supply engines for 1,500 horsepower tanks worth 313.1 billion won. With this order, Hyundai Doosan Infracore will export its defense engine for the first time. The engine will be mounted on Turkey's next-generation tank "Altai," manufactured by Bemeze.
The "Altai" tank is the brother tank of the "K2 Black Panther," Korea's flagship tank. Turkey received design and technology transfer from Hyundai Rotem, an K-2 developer, and developed it.
According to the contract, the first volume worth KRW 110.2 billion will be supplied sequentially for three years from the second half of 2025, and the second volume worth KRW 202.9 billion under the additional option purchase contract will be supplied in 2028∼2030.
