On the other hand, SK On is also uncertain about performance-based bonuses due to past deficits and spin-off from its parent company.
According to the industry on the 6th, LG Ensol paid performance-based bonuses from at least 700% to up to 900% to its executives and employees depending on their performance. The average bonus received by employees is around 870%. This is about 43.5% of the average annual salary of employees.
It was thanks to LG Ensol's good performance that they were able to pay high bonuses. LG Ensol achieved annual sales of 25.5986 trillion won and operating profit of 1.2137 trillion won last year. In particular, it became the so-called "1 trillion club" as sales and operating profit recorded the highest performance since its foundation.
The atmosphere of SK ON is somewhat stagnant. In addition to recording losses for six consecutive quarters as of the third quarter, SK ON also fell below its original target for attracting external investment. It is widely believed that it is also difficult to get out of the deficit in the fourth quarter of last year.
For this reason, it is unclear whether SK On executives and employees who started to stand alone will be paid performance-based bonuses. However, in the case of last year, it received the same 1,000% performance-based bonus paid by SK Innovation shortly after its spin-off.
Meanwhile, many predict that SK Innovation will pay performance-based bonuses from previous years due to a boom in the first and second quarters despite its fourth-quarter deficit stemming from a drop in international oil prices last year.
