[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Doosan Bobcat announced on the 8th that it posted sales of 8.6219 trillion won and operating profit of 1.716 trillion won as a result of last year's provisional tally.
Compared to the previous year, sales increased by 48% and operating profit increased by 80%, the highest ever. The previous record was 5.8162 trillion won in sales and 595.3 billion won in operating profit in 2021.
The company explained that its performance surged as the agricultural and landscaping equipment (GME) business grew and sales of Doosan Industrial Vehicles acquired in 2021 were reflected in its annual performance.
Last year, Doosan Bobcat's GME business grew 51% year-on-year in North America. Since 2019, when the compact tractor was released, the annual average growth rate has continued at 56% over the past four years.
The industrial vehicle business also recorded 1.4 trillion won in sales due to strong North American market.
As of the fourth quarter of last year, sales were 2.3839 trillion won and operating profit was 250.8 billion won, up 35% and 63%, respectively, from the previous year.
Meanwhile, Doosan Bobcat aims for sales of 9.2262 trillion won and operating profit of 897.8 billion won this year, considering rising raw materials and labor costs.
