[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Mobis' labor union occupied its headquarters and protested.
This is because the amount of special incentives offered by the company is smaller than that of Hyundai Motor and Kia, group affiliates.
According to the industry on the 22nd, about 100 union members of Hyundai Mobis staged a sit-in on the first floor of Hyundai Mobis' headquarters in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The demonstration lasted about an hour and disbanded around 8 a.m.
Earlier, Hyundai Mobis announced in a notice that it would pay 3 million won per employee in the name of special incentives. The payment was made to encourage the efforts of members who surpassed 50 trillion won in sales for the first time in history last year despite the difficult business environment.
However, the union reportedly protested against the small amount of incentives compared to Hyundai Motor and Kia, which pay 4 million won per employee and a certain amount of shares.
Hyundai Mobis' labor union also protested last year to pay the same amount of special incentives as Hyundai Motor and Kia.
