[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The National Tax Service reportedly conducted a special tax probe into actor Kim Tae-hee and collected hundreds of millions of won in taxes. The agency has been paying taxes in good faith, but has drawn a line on the tax evasion controversy, saying that the payment was completed due to additional taxes.
According to the industry on the 1st, the National Tax Service conducted a tax investigation on Kim Tae-hee and Lua Entertainment, then Kim Tae-hee's agency, in 2021. The tax investigation confirmed that there were taxes that had not been paid so far, and the National Tax Service imposed hundreds of millions of won in fines on Kim Tae-hee.
"Kim Tae-hee's payment of the advertising model fee to be paid by the client was somewhat delayed at the expiration of the contract with her former agency," StoryJ Company, Kim Tae-hee's agency, said in a statement. "The former agency, which received the model fee, deposited the model fee to Kim Tae-hee's individual after the contract expired."
Earlier, the National Tax Service reportedly conducted irregular tax audits on actors Lee Byung-hun and Kwon Sang-woo and their agencies to collect hundreds of millions of won in taxes. In response, the agencies explained that there was no omission, saying there was a mistake in the accounting process.
