[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Daewoo Engineering & Construction has returned to the Libyan market by winning a KRW 1 trillion power generation project in Libya.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced on the 12th that it has signed a contract with Libya Electric Power Corporation to build a fast-track power plant in Melita and Misurata. The project is to build gas-fired power plants in Melita and Misurata, Libya.
Since becoming the first Korean company to enter Libya in 1978 before diplomatic relations between the two countries, Daewoo Engineering & Construction has gained continuous trust from the Libyan government by carrying out a total of 163 cases and $11 billion projects in various industries, including power generation, petrochemical, civil engineering and construction. Starting with the Northern Bengal Power Plant in 2003, Libya alone signed four contracts to build large power plants.
