[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] According to HD Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering on the 2nd, it won a total of 52 orders worth $ 7.09 billion in the first and fourth quarters of this year. It is 45% of the annual order target ($ 15.74 billion), the highest among the three shipbuilding companies.
HD Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering signed a contract with Oceania's shipping company to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers on the 29th of last month. The total amount of orders was 674.9 billion won. An official of Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering said, "This is the highest order among the same-level ships."
On the 27th of last month, it won an order of 86.9 billion won for a European shipping company and a PC carrier (Product carrier, petrochemical product carrier). In addition, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, an affiliate of HD Hyundai Shipbuilding, won four mid-sized PC carriers (a total of 240.1 billion won) on the 31st of last month.
HD Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering won the largest number of ships this year with 19 container ships. There are 12 PC carriers, 10 LNG carriers, and 8 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers.
