[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Glovis once again stressed that it has no intention of acquiring HMM.
Hyundai Glovis officially announced on the 12th that it has no intention of acquiring HMM and will focus only on mobility transportation.
In a 2022 performance conference call held in January, the company officially said it has no will to acquire HMM for the second time this year. As it continues to be mentioned as a major acquisition candidate for HMM in the market, the company has made its official position again.
POSCO Holdings, which is mentioned as a potential candidate along with Hyundai Glovis, also said in a first-quarter conference call, "The acquisition of HMM is not in line with the mid- to long-term business direction, so we are currently not considering the acquisition at all."
The Korea Development Bank and the Korea Maritime Promotion Agency, the major shareholders of HMM, recently signed an advisory service contract with Samsung Securities and others on the sale of HMM management rights and began the sale process.
