[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] In line with the reorganization of the global aerospace supply chain, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will expand cooperation in the aerospace and defense industries with Boeing.
The Ministry of Industry and Energy and Boeing will jointly research and develop aerospace semiconductors, urban aviation mobility (UAM), and digital production systems, while actively attracting investment.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said Minister Lee Chang-yang met with Colbert IIIs Theodore and Colbert III of Boeing's Air Defense Division (BDS) on the 13th and exchanged opinions to expand cooperation between Korea and Boeing.
The meeting was designed to expand aerospace and defense industry cooperation between South Korea and Boeing into the future amid international changes in the reorganization of the global aerospace supply chain and an increase in each country's defense budget.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy called for special attention to Boeing so that Korean companies that have proven their competitiveness with excellent technology and schedule management can participate in the development of systems and components of Boeing's future aircraft (private and military heads) from the initial design stage, and asked for Boeing's active participation in the "Fund for Strengthening the Global Capacity of the Aerospace Industry," which is being promoted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
In addition, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy introduced the Korean company's material and parts equipment technology to Boeing and proposed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (R&D) such as aerospace semiconductors, UAM, and digital production systems, and the formation of a working-level consultative body.
