[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Motor and Kia will participate in the "2023 Shanghai International Motor Show" (Shanghai Motor Show), which will be held for the first time in two years, seeking another leap forward in the sluggish Chinese market.
Hyundai Motor and Kia announced on the 18th that they displayed a total of 34 types of vehicles (Hyundai Motor and 14 types of Kia) by setting up exhibition spaces of 2,160㎡ (653 pyeong) and 2,025㎡ (613 pyeong), respectively, at the Shanghai Convention Center in China, where the Shanghai Motor Show was held.
Hyundai Motor and Kia plan to make up for their slump by introducing high-performance N brands and local customized electric vehicles in China, Asia's largest high-performance car market and the world's largest electric vehicle market.
First, Hyundai Motor unveiled the 'The New Avante N' ('The New Elantra N') design at the Shanghai Motor Show for the first time in the world, announcing the N brand's entry into the Chinese market.
The New Avante N is a high-performance model of the Avante partial change model "The New Avante" released in March, and features sporty with a lower and wider body than before.
Hyundai plans to launch The New Avante N in China in the second half of this year. Also, 'Ionic 5 N', the first electrification model of N brand, which will be unveiled for the first time in July, will be introduced in China next year.

Hyundai Motors will also launch local marketing of N brand in the wake of the Shanghai Motor Show.
Starting next month, "Track Day" will be operated in major Chinese cities such as Shanghai and Beijing to ride N-brand vehicles on the track, and the "Hyundai Driving Experience" program, which allows customers to learn from basic driving to high-level driving technologies, will be piloted there starting this year.
