[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] SD Biosensor, an in vitro diagnostic company, said on the 27th that it has been fined 102.1 billion won by the Central Regional Tax Office.
This is an amount equivalent to 3.47% of the equity capital on the day of disclosure, and the payment deadline is until June 30 this year.
SD Biosensor has been receiving tax cuts on income generated from the plant when it moved to Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, in 2013. The National Tax Service is said to have imposed fines, saying it is not appropriate to get a tax cut for relocating the plant to provincial areas.
"There are differences with the decision of the Jungbu Regional Tax Office," the company said. "After reviewing the relevant contents, we plan to file a complaint or file an objection under the law if there is an objection."
