[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] POSCO Future M (formerly POSCO Chemical) will continue its honeymoon with China's Huayu Cobalt. It is planning to establish a precursor joint venture (JV) as in China.
According to industries on the 1st, POSCO Future M will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hwayu Cobalt, Gyeongbuk Province and Pohang City on the 3rd.
With the MOU, POSCO Future M will build a precursor and cathode material plant on a 14,000-pyeong site in Pohang Blue Valley Industrial Complex. An electric bulb is an intermediate material for bipolar materials that determines battery energy density. Anode material is a material that affects battery charging speed and life.
In the case of electric balls, we invest in common by establishing volcanic cobalt and JV. The amount is said to be around 1 trillion won. The two companies are currently building Zhejiang saturation (anode material JV) and Zhejiang artillery (precursor JV) in China and building local factories.
