[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The DB HiTek brand division will be reborn.
According to DB HiTek on the 2nd, the new corporation 'DB Global Chip' was launched on the same day. Initially, the company confirmed its name as DB Global Chip from the tentative name (DB Fabless).
Earlier, DB HiTek decided to remove the brand division that designs display drive chips (DDIs). The company passed the agenda for the division of the department through a regular shareholders' meeting on March 29.
DB Global Chip, led by President Hwang Kyu-chul, is planning to become a high-tech display design company. By expanding organic light-emitting diode (OLED) products for smartphones, it is planning to establish itself as a key supplier of major display manufacturers and expand its applications to TVs and automobiles.
In the liquid crystal display (LCD) field, the company plans to increase its market share in the Chinese market by strengthening product characteristics such as ultra-high speed and low power. In the mid- to long-term, the company plans to enter the mini LED TV market and grow into a display total solution company for its portfolio such as power semiconductors for displays.
