[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Kakao Talk's messenger service "Kakao Talk" caused a failure to send and receive messages for about 20 minutes in the afternoon on the 8th.
"From 1:35 p.m. to 1:54 p.m., some users were not able to receive KakaoTalk messages and log in smoothly," Kakao said. "All of them are now normalized through emergency inspection as soon as the failure is detected."
Due to the error, KakaoTalk also showed information such as "Please try again in a moment" and "I could not load the conversation from the server." In addition, search words such as 'KakaoTalk' and 'KakaoTalk Error' were exposed to the top of the 'Korea Trend' list presented by Twitter.
Regarding the cause of the failure, a Kakao official said, "It is presumed to be a network error." Some users failed to send messages while errors persisted Or, they complained of inconveniences such as being unable to log back in after automatically logging out of the KakaoTalk PC version.
Kakao caught fire at the SK C&C Pangyo Data Center in October last year, causing major service failures. At that time, service paralysis occurred throughout affiliates such as Kakao T, Kakao Map, Kakao Bank, and Kakao Pay, causing great confusion. This year, it is not the first time to have a KakaoTalk connection failure. In January, there was also a phenomenon in which the number and transmission of messages were not smooth for nine minutes.
