[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] South Korea and Saudi Arabia have agreed to join hands to become global transportation logistics hubs. The company plans to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the future mobility and road sectors, respectively, to seek to strengthen policy and technical cooperation.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will hold the "2nd Korea-Saudi Mobility and Innovation Road Show" in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Transportation and Logistics at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul on the 9th. It is a place where the two countries discuss strategic cooperation to become a global transportation logistics hub.
The event was arranged as a result of two rounds of one-team Korea Saudi orders in November last year and January this year. Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Won Hee-ryong proposed a regular cooperation platform between the two countries.
The event will be attended by Minister Won, Saudi Transport and Logistics Minister Saleh al-Jorsir, and some 200 officials from public organizations and businesses from the two countries.
Saudi Arabia is the number one country in terms of accumulated orders by Korean overseas construction countries. Recently, the government has been pushing for large-scale projects, including the Neom project, led by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
