[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] SK Magic filed a lawsuit against Cuckoo Homesys for infringing on patents related to ice water purifiers.
They claim that some products of Cuckoo Homesys have copied the technology to make ice. Cuckoo Homesys, on the other hand, uses SK Magic's technology and other technologies to counter that it is not an infringement.
SK Magic said on November 11, "We filed a lawsuit against Cuckoo Homesys for patent infringement and damages in the Seoul Central District Court on the 1st of this month."
"We sent a warning letter and waited for an answer before the lawsuit for a smooth solution, but we filed the lawsuit because we did not have a strong will to resolve it," an SK Magic official said. "We will calculate the amount of damages estimated to be the sale of the model, along with a call for an immediate ban on the sale of the model in order to protect the patent developed by investing a huge amount of money and manpower for a long time."
Cuckoo Homesys says it did not infringe the patent. This explains that it is not a patent infringement because technical differences are clear.
