[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong has been confirmed to have met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Samsung Electronics said on the 14th that Chairman Lee met with CEO Musk at Samsung Electronics' North American Semiconductor Research Institute in Silicon Valley on the 10th to discuss ways to cooperate in high-tech industries in the future.

CEO Musk is leading innovative companies in advanced technologies such as Tesla, the world's largest electric vehicle company, next-generation satellite communication (Starlink), space exploration (SpaceX), next-generation mobility (hyperloop) and artificial intelligence (Open AI).

The industry expects Samsung's system semiconductor territory for battlefields to expand further with the meeting between Chairman Lee and CEO Musk.

In addition to Chairman Lee, as he met with Tesla's management with all the heads of semiconductors and displays, there is a possibility that the two sides had in-depth discussions on the mass production of next-generation self-driving semiconductors.

According to Samsung Electronics, Chairman Lee Jae-yong returned home on the morning of the 12th. The total business trip period is 22 days, which is the longest business trip since the president took office.
