[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Prosecutors have launched a forced investigation into Rep. Kim Nam-kook's alleged "holding 6 billion won in Wemix," including a raid on a large virtual asset exchange.

According to the industry on the 15th, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office raided Upbeat and Bithumb to secure details such as Kim's account information. The prosecution filed two search and seizure warrants for Kim's wallet in October and November last year, but they were rejected.

Kim is known to have transferred some 800,000 Wemix wallets to Upbit wallets from the coin exchange Bithumb wallet between January and February last year. Upbit judged this to be an abnormal transaction and reported it to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).

Meanwhile, Kim left the party during the Democratic Party's fact-finding and ethics inspection on the 14th and became an independent.
