Kakao Pay said on the 15th that the service was disabled from 12:10 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Connections were not smooth in remittance, payment, and asset management services related to Kakao Pay. Kakao Pay announced on its website that "the service will not be available from 12:07 p.m. due to the service system inspection." He also said, "The latest information updates and remittances for some assets (Kakao Pay) will be temporarily suspended due to the inspection of the 'asset management' service from 12:38 p.m. to 14:19 p.m."
The connection failure on this day caused great confusion as it coincided with lunchtime. It is heard that office workers who brought out only smartphones without wallets suffered considerable inconvenience.
Recently, there have been a series of service failures at KakaoTalk and major financial affiliates. KakaoTalk had a message transmission and reception failure for 15 minutes from 1:35 pm on the 8th. Access was also not smooth for nine minutes in the afternoon on Jan. 17 this year. In October last year, a long-term shutdown occurred due to a fire at the Pangyo Data Center.
Some investors also missed the timing of the sale because accessing, transferring and trading overseas stocks were not carried out smoothly due to a delay in app services for about 10 minutes on Jan. 12.
