[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] KT will release more than 30 new works by next year to find the second Woo Young-woo.

Through this, the company aims to achieve sales of 5 trillion won in the media sector by 2025. Also, 'All-in-One Set-Top Box (STB)' which integrates IPTV· Internet and Artificial Intelligence (AI) speakers was released. It plans to provide a platform for watching online video services (OTT) more smoothly and increase its market share and sales in the paid broadcasting market with premium set-top boxes.

KT announced on the 18th at Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun, Jung-gu, Seoul, holding 'KT Group Media Day' with KT Studio Genie and ENA. It is the first announcement in about a year since the IPTV service brand was changed from Olleh TV to Genie TV last year.

Last year, KT Group's overall media sales grew 9% year-on-year to 4.2 trillion won. Sales in the content sector surpassed 500 billion won for the first time. The Woo Young-woo effect, which recorded Netflix's No. 1 global ranking and ENA channel's highest viewer rating of 17.5%, was big. As a result, ENA, which newly branded the skyTV channel last year, jumped 13 notches to 11th place, and sales grew 67% to surpass 110 billion won.

This year and next year, KT Studio Genie plans to add about 30 new original contents.

KT plans to break through the stagnant pay-TV market with the new STB.
