[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Kakao founder Kim Bum-soo, head of Kakao's Future Initiative Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center), stepped down from his position as an in-house director of Kakao Piccoma, which began his activities in 2017.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 15th, Kakao announced in a quarterly report that Kim Bum-soo, head of the center, served as an in-house director of Kakao Piccoma until March. Kakao Piccoma is the operator of the global webtoon platform 'Piccoma', and Kim, the head of the center, has been involved in the business going back and forth between Korea and Japan as an in-house director.
Kim served as an in-house director of Kakao Piccoma once from 2017 to August 2021, at the beginning of the Kakao Piccoma business. He then served as an in-house director from last year to March this year.
An official of Kakao Piccoma explained, "It is a change due to the expiration of the term (Director Kim)." As a result, Kim will only serve as a director of K-Cube Holdings' other non-executive director and Brian Impact, a social contribution foundation.
