[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] It has been confirmed that the National Tax Service has launched a special tax investigation on GS Engineering & Construction. The National Tax Service is known to be looking extensively into the collapse of GS Engineering & Construction's underground parking lot in Incheon Gumdan Andante last month and data related to the construction union.
According to related industries on the 1st, the Seoul Regional Tax Office conducted a tax audit by sending employees to the office of GS E&C headquarters in Grand Seoul, Jongno-gu, Seoul to secure accounting data.
In particular, the tax investigation is reportedly conducted by the investigation bureau 4, which is in charge of special tax audits. It is generally interpreted as a special tax survey, not a regular survey conducted every 4∼5 years. GS Engineering & Construction underwent regular tax audits in 2019.
