[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Kim Dong-kwan, visiting Hanwha Ocean for the first time

Hanwha Group Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan will visit Hanwha Ocean (formerly Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering) Okpo Shipyard in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province, on the 7th. It will be Vice Chairman Kim's first visit to Hanwha Ocean's operations since the acquisition.

According to the industry on the 1st, Vice Chairman Kim will visit Okpo Shipyard to inspect the workplace and encourage employees working on the site. Major executives such as Kwon Hyuk-woong, vice chairman of Hanwha Ocean, Chung In-seop, and Kim Jong-seo will also attend. Kim was listed on the board of directors of Hanwha Ocean as a non-executive director.

Vice Chairman Kim's visit is seen as a move to show that he is focusing on normalizing Hanwha Ocean management at the group level. He said at a shareholders' meeting on the 23rd of last month, "We will grow Hanwha Ocean into a global marine and energy leader by managing and nurturing human resources."

Hanwha is making every effort to secure Hanwha Ocean manpower, which is an immediate task. First, employees from Daewoo Shipbuilding, who moved to Hanwha affiliates such as Hanwha Aerospace, will be dispatched from the middle of this month to the end of next year.
