[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung Heavy Industries was found to have entrusted ship electrical devices to subcontractors and did not hand over documents containing subcontracting fees until the work began, so it was sanctioned by the Fair Trade Commission.
The Fair Trade Commission said on the 2nd that it will impose a correction order and a fine of 36 million won on Samsung Heavy Industries for violating such subcontracting laws.
According to the FTC's investigation, Samsung Heavy Industries commissioned subcontractor A to lease ship electrical and mechanical devices from September 2019 to April 2020.
In the process, documents containing major matters, such as the details of the work and subcontract payment, were issued up to 102 days after the start of the work or were not issued until the end of the work.
Under the Subcontracting Act, the original business owner must issue a document stating the details of the subcontract contract before the contractor commences work.
In response, the FTC ordered Samsung Heavy Industries not to repeat the same and similar acts in the future and fined it 36 million won.
