[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] KAI (Korea Aerospace Industries) held an export ceremony for Poland's export FA-50 1 at its headquarters in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, on July 7.

This is the shortest-ever shipment in eight months since the signing of the contract in September last year. The ceremony was attended by some 100 officials, including KAI President Kang Gu-young, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup, First Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Jang Young-jin, Air Force Chief of Staff Jung-hwa, Polish Air Force Commander Ireneus Novak, Administrator of the National Defense Agency Eom Dong-hwan and Polish Ambassador to Korea Piotr Ostashevsky.

The submission ceremony is significant in that it is first opened to the public as the reality of the aircraft on the drawing is embodied. The ceremony symbolically expressed the protection of the airspace of Korea and Poland and the friendship between the two countries under the theme of "Strong Promise, Protect the Future."

The Polish export FA-50 1 uses the FA-50GF (Gap Filler) as the name to fill the power gap for the rapid replacement of old Polish fighter jets and early electrification of new fighter jets. FA-50GF will begin its first delivery in August after a flight test by July and a total of 12 units will be delivered first by the end of this year.
