[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has once again put the brakes on automakers' entry into the used car market. KG Mobility (formerly Ssangyong Motor), which was seeking to enter the certified used car market in the second half of this year, has also become virtually difficult.

According to related industries on the 19th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups issued a temporary suspension of KG Mobility's used car sales business on the 15th. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to hold a review committee later to review the impact of finished companies' entry into the certified used car market on the small and medium-sized business community, as in the case of Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors.

The pause deadline is until the final conclusion is reached at the deliberation committee. Considering the selection of deliberation committee members and the survey period for holding the deliberation committee, it is expected to be concluded at least three to four months later. Therefore, it is expected that it will be difficult to start the business within this year.

"If there is a significant legal impact on the small and medium-sized business community, we can recommend suspension of business before the deliberation committee is held," an official from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups said. "Since there were cases of Hyundai Motor and Kia earlier, the committee will be able to reach a conclusion as soon as possible."

Regarding such measures by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, a KG Mobility official said, "KG Mobility will not start the used car business until a conclusion on the application for business adjustment is reached following the recommendation to suspend the start of business by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups."
