[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Choi Tae-won) announced on the 22nd (local time) that the chairmen of eight Korean groups met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.

The meeting was attended by Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Group Chairman and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, Hanwha Group Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan, Korean Air Chairman Cho Won-tae, Hyosung Group Vice Chairman Cho Hyun-sang and Pungsan Group Chairman Ryu Jin.

President Macron invited the chairmen of major Korean groups visiting Paris to the Elysee Palace to attend the 172nd Organization International des Expositions (BIE) General Assembly in Paris, France and host the 2030 Busan World Expo.

During the meeting, President Macron announced France's economic and social reform policies to strengthen its investment appeal. He then encouraged Korean companies to pay attention and participate, explaining their investment plans for future strategic industries such as energy, future transportation and medical and bio industries.
