[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] "We are considering the business suspension or closure of the Jangseong plant, but nothing has been decided," Korea Cement announced on the 22nd. "Even if the closure of the plant is decided, the main operations will continue through the relocation of the plant."
The move comes after the KOSDAQ market headquarters of the Korea Exchange demanded an explanation of rumors or reports regarding media reports on "Koryo Cement's decision to early close its Jangseong plant in South Jeolla Province."
The company said, "We will re-publicize the details within a month or when they are finalized in the future."
Earlier on the 13th, Korea Cement announced the suspension of production at its Jangseong plant due to a labor dispute over collective bargaining (consultation) between labor and management.
The company explained, "If production does not resume within six months from the initial production suspension date, the reason for the actual examination may occur."
