[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Former Hi-Mart Chairman Sun Jong-koo has virtually won a lawsuit filed by Eugene Group Chairman Yoo Kyung-sun, saying he did not receive any contract money during the merger and acquisition process.

The Supreme Court returned the case to the Seoul High Court today (13th), breaking the original ruling that lost some of the plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed by former Chairman Sun against Chairman Yoo.

Former chairman Sun filed a lawsuit to pay 46 billion won in agreements and gift taxes, claiming that Eugene Group signed an agreement to receive 40 billion won in the process of acquiring Hi-Mart.

The second trial ordered Yoo to pay 20.3 billion won, excluding Sun's salary increase, but the Supreme Court believes the deduction needs to be reconsidered.
