A survey found that sales commissions paid by stores in department stores and hypermarkets reached around 20%.

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The sales commission rate paid by department stores and large discount stores is around 20%, the survey showed.

According to the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business on the 16th, according to a survey of 900 department stores and large discount stores between March and May this year, the average sales commission rate that the stores pay for special purchase and lease was 21.3% for department stores and 18.7% for large discount stores.

In the case of department stores, Lotte was the highest with 22.9%, followed by AK Plaza (22.1%), Shinsegae (21.5%), Galleria (20.4%) and Hyundai (19.3%). Large marts were Homeplus (19.8%), Lotte Mart (19.7%), E-Mart (18.0%), and Hanaro Mart (17.0%). In addition, the margin ratio of large retailers in direct purchase transactions averaged 23.9% in department stores and 18.0% in large discount stores.

AK Plaza has the highest margin ratio of 25.0%, followed by Shinsegae (24.3%), Hyundai (24.1%), Galleria (23.3%) and Lotte (21.8%). Large marts were followed by Lotte Mart (20.1%), Hanaro Mart (18.3%), E-Mart (17.3%), and Homeplus (16.4%).
