[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Four domestic flights will be canceled tomorrow (19th) due to wage conflicts with Asiana Airlines' pilot union.
"The pilot union's dispute has confirmed the cancellation of four round-trip flights between Gimpo-Jeju and Gimpo-Gwangju tomorrow," Asiana Airlines said on the 18th. "A message of cancellation was sent to passengers."
On the 16th, the first international route, the Incheon-Ho Chi Minh route, was canceled, causing great inconvenience to passengers.
Asiana Airlines' pilot union began a law-abiding struggle on the 7th after four rounds of wage negotiations with the management.
The gap has not narrowed at a time when the management proposed a 10% increase by 2.5%, and the pilots' union will announce a strike on the 24th, which will add to the inconvenience of passengers during the holiday season.
Previously, two international and 10 domestic flights were canceled from the 7th of last month to the 16th of this month, and a total of 56 international and domestic flights were delayed.
"We plan to analyze all reservation situations and reduce the number of flights or adjust flight schedules because the pilots' union is likely to reduce supply by 20 percent for international flights and 50 percent for domestic flights," an Asiana Airlines official said.
