[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Korea Consumer Agency has recently started to figure out whether the product process is a problem in connection with the explosion of a glass door in a drum washing machine.
After looking into the background of the accident on its own, the Korea Consumer Agency will soon send an official letter to the manufacturer, LG Electronics, to confirm and explain the facts.
"We heard about the accident through a media report on the 23rd, and we are looking into the situation," said an official at the Korea Consumer Agency on the 24th. "In a different case from the case that Samsung Electronics broke the glass door of the drum washing machine last year, we will first check whether it is the process problem of a specific company or the overall phenomenon of the drum washing machine product, and then send an official letter asking the manufacturer for an explanation."
The LG Electronics Service Center explained that the accident damaged the glass door of a new drum washing machine, which was purchased about a month ago, as if it suddenly exploded while washing, which is believed to be a rare "Japa phenomenon" in tempered glass.
"We need to take a closer look at the background of the accident, but according to media reports, the accident seems different from the explosion of the Samsung washing machine, which was a process problem such as poor adhesion," said an official at the Korea Consumer Agency.
