[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] HD Hyundai Heavy Industries raised an official objection to Hanwha Ocean's selection as the preferred bidder for the next naval frigate construction project.

According to the shipbuilding industry on the 26th, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries filed an objection with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration that Hanwha Ocean was selected as the preferred bidder for the Ulsan-class deployment 3 5∼6 ship construction project.

Accordingly, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration must respond to objections filed within seven days.

Earlier, Hanwha Ocean received a final score of 91.8855 points in the bid, beating HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, which received a total of 91.7433 points, by 0.1422 points.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries applied a 1.8-point deduction in the evaluation of its weapons system proposal after a company official who filmed and shared military secrets, including concept design related to the next-generation Korean destroyer (KDDX) project, was found guilty in November last year, and the deduction was a decisive factor.

In response, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries reportedly applied for debriefing to listen to the scores and reasons for the evaluation of the business proposal to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration on the 18th and listened to it on the 24th.
