[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The KOSDAQ Market Headquarters of the Korea Exchange announced on the 26th that it will designate EcoproBM as an overheated short stock selling item and ban short stock selling for one day on the 27th.
As a result, EcoproBM's short selling will be banned in the regular and after-hours markets on the 27th. If the stock price falls more than 5% on the 27th, the ban on short selling could be extended.
The stock market headquarters of the Korea Exchange also designated LS Electric as an overheated short stock selling item and banned short stock selling for one day on the 27th.
The exchange will designate stocks that meet the criteria such as the share price drop rate and the proportion and growth rate of short stock selling transactions stipulated in the securities and KOSDAQ market business regulations and enforcement rules as overheated short stock selling items.
On the KOSDAQ market, EcoproBM's short stock selling volume reached 806,750 shares and the short stock selling volume reached 413.3 billion won. This is equivalent to 7.32% of the KRW 5.628 trillion in EcoProBM transactions. On the same day, Ecoprobm rose 26.41% from the previous day to 584,000 won during the day, but plunged 1.52% to 455,000 won in the afternoon.
In the securities market, LS Electric's short stock selling amounted to 26.9 billion won, with a portion of 5.03%.
