[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Kim Young-seop, former president of LG CNS, Park Yoon-young, former president of KT, and Cha Sang-kyun, a professor at Seoul National University, were selected as the final three candidates for the new CEO of KT.
KT's director recommendation committee announced on the 27th that it has selected three in-depth candidates through document screening and non-face-to-face interviews for internal and external CEO candidates received until the 12th.
The KT director recommendation committee conducted document screening and non-face-to-face interviews in terms of qualifications for CEO candidates in the articles of association, including corporate management expertise, industry expertise, leadership and communication capabilities for about three weeks from the 13th.
During the screening process, the committee comprehensively considered the support documents submitted by candidates and the evaluation opinions of the selection advisory group composed of outside experts, and decided on the three candidates after in-depth discussions among committee members after non-face-to-face interviews, the committee explained.
Former LG CNS President Kim Young-sup, who was selected as a candidate this time, was born in 1959 and has worked for LG affiliates for more than 30 years since joining Lucky Geumseong Corporation in 1984. He served as an executive at LG's restructuring headquarters and LG CNS's management headquarters. In particular, he served as vice president of CFO in the management office at LG Uplus in 2014 before being appointed as the president of LG CNS.
Former KT CEO Park Yoon-young headed KT's corporate division in 2020 and was among the final four candidates for the next CEO in the process of appointing a new president in February.
Cha Sang-kyun, a professor at Seoul National University, was born in 1958 and heads the Graduate School of Data Science at Seoul National University and is also known to be familiar with artificial intelligence. Lee Seok-chae served as an outside director when he was chairman of KT, and also served as an outside director at AmorePacific from 2020 to March this year.
