Seo Min-jung, the eldest daughter of AmorePacific family, suddenly took a leave of absence earlier this month

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Seo Min-jung (32), the eldest daughter of AmorePacific Group Chairman Seo Kyung-bae, reportedly took a sudden leave of absence.

According to industry sources on the 27th, Seo, who has been in charge of the Amorepacific Luxury Brand Division AP team until recently, has taken a leave of absence from the company and has not been to work since early this month. The leave of absence is a maximum of one year.

"I only know that he took a leave of absence for personal reasons," an AmorePacific official said. "I don't know the specific reasons."

Seo graduated from Cornell University in the United States and worked as a consultant for Bain & Company In January 2017, he joined AmorePacific as a regular employee, and left the company six months later to study in China.

After completing his master's degree in business administration (MBA) in China, he reportedly joined the beauty sales strategy team as a section chief in 2019 and has been taking management succession classes.

Seo currently holds a 2.66% stake in AmorePacific Group and an 8.68% stake in Innisfree, an unlisted affiliate. Nongshim Holdings, the holding company of Nongshim Group, also has a 0.3% stake in Nongshim Holdings. Seo is the granddaughter of Nongshim founder and late chairman Shin Chun-ho.
