[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] With the possibility that Chinese display maker BOE may not be able to supply panels to the iPhone 15 series, which Apple is scheduled to release in the third quarter, expectations are rising that Samsung Display and LG Display will receive "iPhone benefits" in the second half of this year. This is because profitability can be further improved as sales of small OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) increase.

According to the display industry on the 2nd, Samsung Display and LG Display are shipping OLED panels for Apple's iPhone 15 series, which will be unveiled next month.

Apple is expected to apply the LIPO (Low Injection Pressure Overmolding) technology, which was introduced in the Smart Watch Apple Watch 7, to the new iPhone series display.

A total of four iPhone 15 series are expected to be released. It is heard that Samsung Display will supply OLED panels to all four new iPhone products, while LG Display will supply OLED panels to two top line-ups, "Pro."

As Apple and other new smartphone models continue to be released in the third quarter, display industries such as Samsung Display and LG Display expect both sales and profitability to improve. Samsung Display is expected to see solid sales growth in both Samsung's foldable phone Galaxy Z5 series and Apple's iPhone 15 series, which were unveiled this month.

LG Display is also expected to have a significant increase in iPhone 15 display market share compared to the previous year and be affected by profitability improvement.
