[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hankook Tire & Technology made an announcement on the 7th that it has proved its top-notch electric vehicle tire technology by achieving a new Guinness World Record at its electric vehicle project Volkswagen ID.4 Canada Tour.
The tour, which ran from the 25th of last month (local time) to the 31st of last month, is the fifth project with Hankook Tire and Volkswagen.
Guinness world record-holding driver Rainer Zietro and photographer Elik Pop made it into the Guinness Book of World Records by crossing National Road No. 1 from Newfoundland to Victoria, the northernmost part of Canada, with 18 visits to the smallest electric car charging station. The total mileage is 7133㎞.
In 2020, Hankook Tire achieved the Guinness World Record by conducting the 'I.D.3 German Tour' with Volkswagen and successfully driving 28,198㎞ across Germany for 65 days.
This time, Hankook Tire led the success of the project by participating in the four-season tire 'Aion Evo AS’' of 'iON', a tire brand exclusively for electric vehicles.
