[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] SK Telecom CEO Yoo Young-sang received 1.459 billion won in remuneration in the first half of the year, the report showed.
According to SK Telecom's 2023 semi-annual report recently released on the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system, Yoo received a total of 1.459 billion won, including 600 million won in salary, 836 million won in bonuses and 23 million won in other earned income.
"Yoo redefined the SKT 2.0 of Wired and Wireless Telecommunication, Media Business, Enterprise, AI Bus, and Connected Intelligence, and enhanced corporate value by accelerating AI innovation in core businesses," SK Telecom said. "As of last year, mobile communication sales reached KRW 10.5 trillion, up 2% from the previous year and led to solid growth in wired and wireless communication areas."
"We are preparing to commercialize the first UAM in Korea through cooperation with global companies, and we are accelerating the establishment of innovative services in the area of connected intelligence by building AI solutions covering hardware, software and platform in autonomous driving."
In-house director Kang Jong-ryeol, president of SK Telecom's infrastructure, received 880 million won in compensation in the first half of this year. It includes 350 million won in salary, 526 million won in bonuses and 4 million won in other earned income.
As of the first half of the year, SK Telecom had 113 unregistered executives and the average salary per person was 367 million won. The number of unregistered executives increased by 16 from 97 in the first half of last year, and the average salary per person decreased by about 6% from 391 million won last year.
Meanwhile, the number of SK Telecom employees in the first half of the year totaled 5,565, including fixed-term workers, up 189 from 5,376 in the first half of last year. The average salary per employee in the first half of the year was 80 million won, down slightly from 81 million won in the first half of last year.
