[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The solar power generation business of Samsung C&T's commercial division is rapidly growing into a key future business with full-fledged profit realization.
Profits from the sale of solar energy businesses in the U.S. market are expected to surpass $100 million (accumulated) in the third and fourth quarters of this year.
Samsung C&T's commercial division said on the 16th that Samsung C&T Newables, a U.S. renewable energy corporation, has completed the sale of a 150MW solar project at Fayette County in central and southern Illinois to NSCE, a local private power generation company.
Samsung C&T also signed a service agreement (DSA) from the sale to provide remaining solar energy development services to NSCE, including all necessary evaluations and licensing before the construction of the power plant. This does not mean that solar power complexes have already been built and sold, but that they will hand over their business rights in advance at the site selection stage. It is the sale of the so-called "solar business right" that sells the business right before construction by processing the site excavation and licensing acquisition en masse.
