[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Intellian Technologies, which produces antennas for satellite communications, made a public announcement on the 17th that it has signed a contract with a satellite telecommunications operator, also called the "space Internet," to supply gateway antennas, a relay infrastructure for ground stations worth KRW 30.6 billion.

The contract calls for supplying the first mass production of ground gateway antennas from the second quarter of 2024 to the third quarter of 2025. The contract size is 22.88 million dollars (about 30.6 billion won). Intellian Technologies did not reveal a specific counterpart to the contract, citing a request for confidentiality.

The disclosure is interpreted as a follow-up to the development of antennas for gateways, which the company announced in May as one of the uses of funds in the process of paid-in capital increase.

Intellian Technologies is publicly supplying antennas for low-orbit satellite Internet users in the UK's OneWeb and Canada's Telesat.

Because of this, the other party of the contract is estimated to be a different company from them. In particular, since StarLink of SpaceX has internalized the antenna business for the space Internet, many predict that it will be Amazon's Kuiper project-oriented product.
