[Alpha Biz=Reporter Lee Jun Hyun & Lee Hyung Jin] There has been an alleged claim that BTS Jungkook’s new solo ‘Seven’ has plagiarized Korean girl group Fin.K.L’s ‘Time of Mask’ released in 2000.

Undisclosed source in K-POP industries claimed that BTS Jungkook’s new solo released on July 21 of this year copied main melodies of Fin.K.L's ‘Time of Mask’.

A person who is familiar with the matter told Alpha Biz, "It has been confirmed that main melodies and chord progression of JungKook’s songs is identical to Fin.K.L.’s. Some of reputable Korean K-POP composers issued the statement that two songs are harmonically identical.” Be

Jungkook's new solo ‘Seven’ is known to be co-composed by five musicians: Andrew Watt, Jon Bellion, Henry Walter, Theron Thomas and Latto.

Yang Joon-young, the one of original K-POP composers, wrote ‘Time of Mask’

Composer Yang sent explanatory materials including sound track and the score to A, one of HYBE’s main music producers.

HYBE has delayed to provide a formal response to Mr. Yang since the Chairman of the board Bang Si-hyuk is on business trip to the US. The company stated that the plagiarism allegation has not been reported to Chairman Bang yet.

Currently, HYBE hasn’t issued any official comments or responses to the allegation.

Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ topped the Spotify’s 'Daily Top Song Global' chart as of the 19th of this month, making it to stay on top of the chart for 36 consecutive days.
